Social Media B2B Marketing in China: The Professional Networking Ecosystem
When the topic of B2B Social Media Marketing is brought up most of us will automatically think of LinkedIn. Which is normally a great place to start. However, when your local market strategy includes China forget it. The Chinese Social Media B2B landscape is very different but no less influential than the west. In a recent article on the Social Media B2B landscape Jeffrey L. Cohen the Managing Editor of SocialMediaB2B.com recently quoted a Global B2B Social Media report from Global Web Index as saying “Chinese B2B decision makers have increased their usage of social media from 31% to 60% over the past two years”. With this level of growth it’s important that anyone involved in Social Media or B2B Marketing start educating themselves about the Social Media B2B landscape in China.
Below is a quick introduction to three important Chinese B2B Social Media sites.
Ushi is an invitation-only business social network connecting China’s most active and influential professionals and entrepreneurs. It has an Alexa rank of 724 in China making it the preferred professional networking site in China.
Tianji, another leading professional network platform in China with nearly 6 million registered users, is closely competing with Ushi and has an Alex rank of 948 in China.
Jingwei is a rapidly growing professional networking site that was launched by China’s leading social networking site RenRen and the leading job-hunting website, Zhaopin.com.
